About Alpine

Thirty-five years of making credentials mean something.

Founded in Orem, Utah in 1991, Alpine Testing Solutions began as a team of psychometricians determined to bring rigor and practicality to the credentialing field. Three decades later, we partner with some of the most recognized certification programs in the world.

In 2025, Alpine joined Volaris Group, a permanent home for vertical software companies. We continue the mission we started with: quality, practical solutions that help test sponsors develop, maintain, and defend assessment programs that credential real careers.

We're still an assembly of psychometricians, engineers, and program specialists who care more about getting the measurement right than getting it done quickly. And we're still investing in our people, our platforms, and the science behind the work.

What we believe

A few things we hold to, engagement after engagement.

Validity is non-negotiable.

Every item, form, and score should answer the question: does this measure what it claims to measure? We don't ship work that can't defend itself.

Rigor over ritual.

Standards and guidelines are tools, not liturgy. We apply them in service of the program, never at the expense of it.

Push back, kindly.

Our clients don't want a yes-partner. They want a partner who challenges assumptions, flags risks, and makes the final product stronger.

Programs are built to grow.

Add a credential, expand into a new region, take on ten times the volume and the foundation still holds. We help position programs for growth without compromising rigor.

Measurement × technology.

We infuse more technology into our measurement, and more measurement into our technology. Neither wins without the other.

The work outlasts us.

Programs and credentials endure for decades. Our partnerships are built to endure with them.

The candidate is part of the measurement.

Candidates who move through a program without friction finish it, recommend it, and come back to recertify. A clean experience protects both the score and the reputation the credential carries.

The number has to be right.

Cut scores get challenged. Accreditation reviewers ask how you got there. Analysis that's been checked, documented, and stress-tested is what lets a program answer with confidence instead of scrambling for the file.
